Characterizing Low-Frequency Qubit Noise

چکیده

Fluctuations of the qubit frequencies are one major problems to overcome on way scalable quantum computers. Of particular importance fluctuations with a correlation time that exceeds decoherence due decay and dephasing by fast processes. The statistics can be characterized measuring correlators outcomes periodically repeated Ramsey measurements. We describe dynamics during measurements evaluate two-time correlator for noise from two-level systems two- three-time Gaussian noise. explicit expressions compared simulations. find that, even though generally significantly different, already ten mimic provided they symmetric. This is not case asymmetric systems.

Non-Gaussian low-frequency noise as a source of qubit decoherence.

We study decoherence in a qubit with the distance between the two levels affected by random flips of bistable fluctuators. For the case of a single fluctuator we evaluate explicitly an exact expression for the phase-memory decay in the echo experiment with a resonant ac excitation. The echo signal as a function of time shows a sequence of plateaus. The position and the height of the plateaus ca...

Low frequency noise and annoyance.

Low frequency noise, the frequency range from about 10 Hz to 200 Hz, has been recognised as a special environmental noise problem, particularly to sensitive people in their homes. Conventional methods of assessing annoyance, typically based on A-weighted equivalent level, are inadequate for low frequency noise and lead to incorrect decisions by regulatory authorities. There have been a large nu...

Sources and effects of low-frequency noise.

The sources of human exposure to low-frequency noise and its effects are reviewed. Low-frequency noise is common as background noise in urban environments, and as an emission from many artificial sources: road vehicles, aircraft, industrial machinery, artillery and mining explosions, and air movement machinery including wind turbines, compressors, and ventilation or air-conditioning units. The ...

Low Frequency Noise from Transportation Sources

Low frequency noise (LFN) is common as background noise in urban environments and as an emission from many artificial sources: road vehicles, aircraft, industrial machinery, artillery and mining explosions, and air movement machinery including wind turbines, compressors, and indoor ventilation and air conditioning units (Tempest, 1976; Leventhall, 1988 from St Pierre and Maguire [1]). LFN may a...

Low-frequency noise in solid-state nanopores.

Low-frequency ionic current noise in solid-state nanopores imposes a limitation on the time resolution achieved in translocation experiments. Recently, this 1/f noise was described as obeying Hooge's phenomenological relation, where the noise scales inversely with the number of charge carriers present. Here, we consider an alternative model in which the low-frequency noise originates from surfa...
